How to make a homemade puzzle for children?

There is no better way for children to learn and fall in love with scientific knowledge than using methods that are very fun for them, and one of the most fun ways to teach them is by carrying out simple experiments .

Carrying out experiments with the little ones will arouse their curiosity and they will begin a search for answers, in order to understand why what their eyes are seeing is happening.

But so that the learning process is not too complicated, it is necessary to carry out scientific experiments that are simple, that do not represent a potential danger and that can be carried out with materials that are easy to obtain

So it's time to pay attention so you can learn these 5 easy experiments, to do with the little ones in the house.

Fun science experiment #1: Let's put an egg in a bottle

What materials should we have on hand?

  • 1 whole boiled egg
  • 1 glass bottle with a mouth less wide than the egg
  • Matches
  • Newspaper

How do we make the egg pass through the mouth of the bottle?

First we put some newspaper inside the bottle, take a match and light a small strip of newspaper. We introduce it in the bottle so that it lights the piece of paper that is inside.

Quickly we must place the egg in the mouth of the bottle and so we can see how it will enter quickly.

This occurs because the fire inside the bottle causes the oxygen to die out, creating a vacuum that sucks the egg in.

The atmospheric pressure inside the bottle becomes lower than the atmospheric pressure outside the bottle.

If we want the egg to come out again, all we have to do is turn the bottle upside down so that the egg goes back to the entrance.Place the bottle under a stream of hot water, so the air inside it will heat up and expand, propelling the egg out.

Let's put a piece of paper in the water without getting it wet

What materials should we have on hand?

  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 glass
  • Water
  • 1 sheet of paper

How to keep the paper from getting wet?

First we add water into the large container.

Then we place the glass upside down inside the container with water, when tilting it a little a bubble should come out, this shows that the air is trapped inside the glass.

Then we take the glass out of the container, make a ball of paper and insert it into the bottom.

We introduce it again vertically in the container with water and we hold it at the bottom for a minute.

We remove the glass again vertically and verify that the paper is dry.

The explanation of what happens is because even though we cannot see the air, it occupies a space . So when we insert the glass, it starts a fight for space with the water, but having no place to escape, compresses inside the glass and gets trapped keeping the paper away from the water.

Let's color the flowers

What materials should we have on hand?

  • Carnations or white roses
  • Several containers or vases
  • Water
  • Colors for food
  • 1 knife

How do we make flowers have color?

We start by adding water to the containers and placing a few drops of food coloring, a different color for each one.

Then, with the help of a knife, we make a diagonal cut on the stem of the flowers and make a small tear

We will place one or several flowers in each of the containers and leave them there for three days, making sure to leave them in a place where the sun does not hit and there is no humidity.

Over time, we will observe how the flowers are dyed, this is because they absorb water through the stem and if this water has dye it will also absorb it.

A drink that changes color

What materials should we have on hand?

  • Water
  • 1 pot
  • 1 glass container
  • Honey or sugar
  • Several lemons
  • Purple flowers suitable for consumption

How do we prepare the lemonade that changes color?

We start by adding the water and the flowers in a pot to take it to the kitchen until it boils and the flowers give off their violet color in the water.

Then we add the infusion that we prepared in a glass container and sweeten it with a little sugar or honey.

Squeeze the lemons in a glass and then add it to the purple infusion.

By stirring, we can see how the violet color is transformed until it achieves a pink color.

This happens because the acid in the lemon juice acts on the violet color making it lighter.

Bubbles with geometric shapes

What materials should we have on hand?

  • Hollow popsicle sticks
  • Sweet wire
  • Glycerin
  • Liquid soap
  • Scissors with a round tip
  • 1 spoon
  • 1 wide and deep bowl
  • Water

We start by inserting the wire through the hollow center of 4 toothpicks and then joining the ends to form a square.

We add a piece of wire to each of the ends of the square and place a toothpick.

Then we join each end until we obtain the shape of a pyramid, we cut the wire leaving only one end a little longer than the other.

We place a toothpick at the top of the pyramid and wrap the protruding wire around the toothpick, creating a kind of handle to hold the structure.

Add water to the container and add 2 tablespoons of glycerin and 4 of liquid soap.

We stir the mixture and proceed to submerge the structure inside the container, making sure that the mixture covers all the dice of the structure.

Then when removing it, we can observe how bubbles form in the geometric structure.

We can put our imagination to run wild and create different structures with different geometric shapes.

And good. How did you like these science experiments for your kids?Whether they go to preschool or elementary school, this is fun science for everyone.
