July 29, International Tiger Day

In 2010 Vladimir Putin (president of Russia) convened in his country (Russia, I don't know if he had said it) the countries where there is still a significant population of Tigers.

Some agreements were signed and it seems that something worked because from 2010 to 2016, the population of tigers in those countries went from 3,200 to 3,890 copies. This is a milestone for conservation organizations.

The most important dangers they face are;

  • Illegal trafficking (both for Asian medicine and for its skin decoration)
  • Loss of its habitat
  • Grazing conflicts
  • Illegal mining

An important issue is to get information on the subject from organizations that defend them and try to avoid any trade in their skins or medicines.

Yes, I know that a tiger fur coat is much softer, nicer and cooler than a faux fur coat. Well, I know it's cooler because you believe it. Personally, I think it's crazy to put on an animal skin coat while having the opportunity to have a type of skin or stitching that doesn't come from animals and is less aggressive.

But it's also true that I know very little about fashion and being cool.

But please, leave the Tiger alone.
