On this day (November 16), 1945, in London, the capital of the United Kingdom, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (better known by its acronym: UNESCO).
UNESCO is an agency dependent on the United Nations, whose primary objective will not be the construction of schools in devastated countries or the publication of scientific findings, but a much broader and more ambitious one: "to build peace in the minds of men through education, culture, natural and social sciences and communication".
